Unlike most of the world, China and Japan were two nations that remained. With no active military and the collapse of the U.S.A., Japan was left defenseless...or so the world would think. Despite the collapse, the lands that were once America knew what Japan meant to them and how it could leave them open if China controlled it.
China launched a surprise attack on Japan, bombing them from the sky. What remained of the American naval forces did what they could to hold back the oncoming Chinese naval fleet. The odds were greatly against what remained in Japan. Despite the naval forces holding back the larger ships, the foot soldiers were landing. One thing was sure, the Chinese were being held back by the bunkers on the shores of Japan that continuously fired upon them.
The destruction was real and the lives lost numbered almost 60,000 Japanese, 55,000 Chinese. Their invasion had been held off, but Japan was sure that this was just a test run. They knew China would be back within the week. They were not known for launching attacks and not following through.
--------
The news of this battle spread quickly. The newly founded nation of the Confederate States of the Phoenix was already trying to reach out to Japan. It didn't take much for Japan to allow military support. Within one week, Japan was defended. This time, Japan would become a state within the Confederate States of the Phoenix which allowed them to begin work on their own military. In the meantime, they would figure out how to deal with the China issue.

"Sir! I'm in range of the strike zone! Permission to fire?!" The jet pilot spoke into his communication system. "Permission granted!", a voice responded. Four seconds after the strike was permitted, the jet was releasing a bomb. Not only it, but a series of seventeen fighter jets and three bomber jets. The Jiangsu Province was their destination, wanting to do as much damage as they could in their first round of bombings. Multiple other cities would feel the same pain as this one minutes after this one. If it wasn't for the modern stealth systems that Apple had created for military use, such a mission would be impossible. (WIP/Not finished)
